The route takes the road from Ston along the Broce Bay, climbing towards the village of Doli and the wind power plants above the Adriatic Highway. This section of EV8 is characterised by hilly, winding roads with authentic, scattered villages, medieval churches with small graveyards, and stećci – medieval tombstones inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The route passes past the villages of Mravinca and Trnova, offering a view of mountains, the sea and the Elafiti Islands. It descends towards Slano, where exploring Dubrovnik hinterland by bike continues with a climb (4 km) to the village of Majkovi, then through the picturesque place of Brsečine, descending along a winding road onto D8 in Trsteno. It is worth visiting the Trsteno Arboretum, the oldest landscaped Renaissance garden in Dalmatia, dating from the early 16th century. From Trsteno to Orašac, the route leads along a good macadam road through the local olive groves, and then along the local roads through Orašac to Zaton Mali. From here it leads onto D8, with no other alternative route, through Štikovica, Vrbica and Lozica to Dr Franjo Tuđman Bridge, where it reaches the well-renowned city of Dubrovnik - the Pearl of the Adriatic, with the Old Town inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. Stradun, the main and the oldest street in Dubrovnik, more than half a century long tradition of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, as well as the Orlando's Column are just some of the symbols of Dubrovnik, while the hill Srđ probably provides the most beautiful view of this unique city.
